8th June 2013
Windsurfing: Felixstowe dip
Wind Direction: NE
Wind Stength: F 4- 5
Surf / Sea State: flat to swell
Air Temperature: cool
Sea Temperature: cool
Weather: cool / cloudy
Max Speed: 26.55 kts (knots - unless stated otherwise)
Distance Covered: 14.7nm (Nautical Miles - unless stated otherwise)

Day 6 of the consecutive NE15-20 kt wind, unbelievable. In all the years av been windsurfing I have not sailed 5 of a possible 6 consecutive days.
Rigged 6.7 H2 again but plugged to a Mistral SL 114 instead of the 120 excite ride.
Strange that high tide had the flat water which I missed arriving 2.30! Paul was moaning no waves which I would have loved.
Again there were at least 6 out all about 6M or less except Dave Coles on 10M / Formula. I was overpowered on the 6.7! The sea was rough to be honest, not as nice as Monday or Tuesday when I launched @ 3pm - its was easy gybing on the inside but you had to pick your spot further out which had big swell and rough seas near the channel mark - not easy.
Coming in with waves was much easier, Everyone seem to be going OK at times, but the wind was gusty, and a couple of times definitely switch to slightly offshore.
DC went in the river for speed and couldn't move, said it was crap, but clocked 30 mph on the open sea.
Had to add more downhaul and outhaul after 1/2 hr as went well overpowered on the outside, needed no more than 6M. The Mistral SL Red Dot though is pretty quick and comfortable even in chop so enjoy the session very much.
Wind again died about 6.30 and yet again nearly got caught on the famous last run as it died completely swinging offish. Lost 3 groynes but made it back OK with Ian.
Not as good as earlier part of the week but still five stars for covering 14.7 nm and top speed 26.55 kts.
If DC did 31mph thats 26.9kts so he would have pipped me (dont lie DC! was it 30.8mph?)
Best speed was on a 38 big wave fin. On the freeride 38cm the speed was 26.01kts and on the JP120/44cm fin 25.7kts all in the same conditions, so I need to look for some decent slalom fins at 38 ish for my weight to get some more speed.
North shoxs excelled to level up the seas, but recoiled 3-4 times lifting the nose viciously. so may have to adjust to stiffen the dampening. Great gadget though.
